I like mistakes. There is no doubt about that. But I will never be able to articulate what it means like Chris does. It's beautifully said.

Teapot-ing Progress
I just love how funny it looks with the big dome on. It is almost middle-eastern like. I sharpened the lines. The angles and the hexagon just below the neck are more profound.
The small lid looks more like a kid's cap or something. Well, it's owner-to-be can make up his own mind on which lid he likes the most.

Hexagon Teapot 2
I'm a woman with a plan. A back-up plan. Two in a roll. I'm on to something here. As planned, this one is wheel thrown and it took only 2 hrs from a ball of clay to this……

Hexagon Teapot going well
A 7-hour day at the studio was barely enough to get the following done.....
Coiling 2 rounds on top of the hexagon formed by slabs last week, then form the shoulder and neck by throwing. That was fun actually. A bit off center but didn't get in the way of throwing much. Note to self, thicker coil next time. The clay got thinned out when throwing upward and outward.
Ta-da.....not bad eh? I kind of like the short neck.
Throw two lids to choose from and as back-up. It's always good to have back-up. It''ll probably take another week to trim the lids and sand out the thing before bisque fire.
Oh, do check out Mud Colony on your way out.

The Quest of a Hexagon Teapot
I was never a fan of teapot. It's like it is against my believe or something. Not that I believe in anything, maybe rainbow and stars. Haha…
But here I am on the quest to make the "perfect" hexagon teapot just because a friend at work requested it causally.
Oh! How I like a challenge! The idea has been bouncing in my heads for a couple weeks. Math knowledge and precision are both very key in making this work. High school math questions really.
Let's see where this leads me........ It would be at least a month before the this piece will be finished.
